SYNOPSIS :
Dumile Feni is one of the greatest and most enigmatic contemporary artists from South Africa. By focusing on the life of this artist, Ramadan Suleman wants to contribute to a better understanding and recognition of the role of black artists in the recent history of South Africa. Zwelidumile Feni (1942-1991): some would call him ‘the Goya of the townships’, celebrated artist who exiled himself during apartheid and finally ended up in New York. He lived the release of Mandela in 1989, though unfortunately never made it home to live a brighter day in a democratic ‘rainbow nation’ South Africa.
