Workshops on cinematographic and audiovisual heritage
As part of the 28th edition of the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), the African Cinematheque of Ouagadougou, kept all its promise for the effective holding of heritage workshops under the theme “African cinematographic and audiovisual archives “. The realization of this activity was possible thanks to the support of the authorities of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Burkina Faso and technical and financial partners such as the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), the French Institute, the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC) of France, the African Cinematheque, the African Cinematheque of Ouagadougou. This is the second consecutive session after that carried out at the 27th edition of FESPACO. The heritage workshops were attended by around forty participants from 14 countries (Mali, Kenya, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Senegal, France, Belgium, Canada, etc.). Heritage workshops were held on February 28, March 1 and March 2, 2023 in Ouagadougou. This report gives an account of the progress of the heritage workshops on the occasion of this 28th edition.
